New Year Reflections: Trusting God with 2026

As 2026 begins, I find myself pausing to thank God for another year of life, lessons, and grace. Looking back on 2025, I can see moments where I struggled to trust, moments where I leaned too much on my own strength. Yet, through every season, God was faithful. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”  Lamentations 3:22–23

This year, I don’t just want to chase goals — I want to grow in godliness. My prayer is that 2026 becomes a year of walking closely with Him, listening more carefully, and obeying more freely.

1. To seek God first.
Before making plans, I want to sit quietly with the Lord. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33

2. To live with gratitude.
There were days last year when I forgot to say thank You, Lord — not because You weren’t good, but because I was restless. In 2026, I want to notice Your blessings in the ordinary. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

3. To extend grace.
You’ve been patient with me, Father, far more than I deserve. Help me show that same grace to others — to forgive quickly and love freely. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32

4. To trust Your timing.
When I grow impatient, remind me that You make everything beautiful in its time. Not mine — Yours. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

As this new year unfolds, I’m not making promises about perfection. I’m simply promising to keep turning back to God — again and again. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Lord, thank You for new beginnings. Lead me faithfully through 2026, and let my life reflect Your light.
